Bollywood Veggies

In November, ONzLAH met with a car accident while on our way to Bollywood Veggies. Our excursion brought the travellers to National University Hospital instead of the the planned destination.

On 17th Jan 2009, Saturday. ONzLAH decided to make another attempt to visit the said Bollywood Veggies. YES! WE DID MAKE IT THERE! ALIVE!

Singapore being a small island. A really, really small island which lacks space, Farmlands are really scarce on this tiny island. Pratically near to non-existance as farm produce is not one of Singapore's proud exports.

Bollywood Veggies do offer the good ol plantation feel at our very own little island.ORGANIC and Earth Friendly products are perhaps the key words to use of this excursion. It's all about ENVIRONMENTAL FRIENDLINESS over at Bollywood Veggies.

Enjoy taking a walk among the vegetation or sit by the fish pond and listen to the bird calls. Bananas? There are tons of bananas at Bollywood Veggies that will make you go bananas.

For the more adventurous, try locating the hideout of Mas Selamat in the beautifully created marshlands. (We will not tell you where...)

When you are done with all the walking and hunting, take a break at Poison Ivy Bistro. We assure you that the restaurant will not set poison to your food. Most of the food in this restaurant are produce from this very farm, so you are tasting the freshest cooking next to having to pluck them from the trees yourself.

How to get there? It took us sometime to figure out how to get there ourselves.

Bollywood Veggies is located at 100 Neo Tiew Road.

DRIVERS

If you drive, Take the PIE (Pan Island Expressway)towards Tuas EXIT 36 but keep right towards Kranji and follow the sign for Hay Dairies / Sungei Buloh Wetland Sanctuary.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

If you are taking the public transport, please note that our Singapore WORLD CLASS public transport system do not really go into roads that do not make them any money.

Here are two alternatives:

Alternative 1

Take a MRT to Kranji MRT Station. Take a Kranji Express (Yellow Bus) shuttle service to Bollywood Veggies. The bus will pick up passengers at every One and a Half Hour and the last bus leaves at 4.30 p.m. from Kranji MRT Station. (Fares: Adult $2, Kids $1)

Alternative 2

Take a MRT to Yew Tee MRT Station. Take a D'Kranji shuttle service to D'Kranji Chalet. From the enterance of D'Kranji Chalet, Take a left turn from the main enterance and take another left turn at the very first T-Junction you see and follow the road for 5 minutes. You will see Bollywood Veggies on your left.

The shuttle bus is free and departs from Yew Tee MRT Station at every 1 hour interval.

Special thanks to the Mrs Ivy Singh-Lim and all her wonderful staff for their hospitality during our visit.

Hot Hot Hort Park.

Hot! Was the word to use for the weather on 11th October 2008, Saturday.
Hort! Was the place we were at for our Assignment.

No, there is no spelling mistake. The crew were at HORT PARK to do an assignment.

Hort Park, NPark's new attraction is also known as the Garderning Hub. It is a 23-hectare regional park in South-Western Singapore and it is also a park connector which links Telok Blangah Hill Park to Kent Ridge Park.

As it was our first time at the place, we were amazed how beautiful the place is. The sunset was simply fantastic. After clearing our assignment, the crew decided to walk a 2.3 KM treetop path from Alexandra Road to Telok Blanga Hill Park.

If you are someone who loves nature. Enjoy the sound of the squeeking bats and perhaps withness a Squirrel rushing home to watch its Saturday Stay Home Movie.

If you are one who loves Photography. Take the hike from Hort Park to Telok Blanga Hill Park.
At the last phase of the hike, you should be able to see a wonderful view of Singapore's sky line.
For our female readers, A male companion is advised.

If you are wondering where exactly we are talking about, Here is how to get there.

Location: HORT PARK
Address: 33 Hyderabad Road, Off Alexandra Road
Buses: (SBS TRANSIT BUSES) 51, 61, 93, 97, 100, 166 and (SMRT BUS) 963.
Taxi / Drive : Drive to Alexendra Road. You will notice a unique shaped bridge overhead.
